Devon Bank Selects IBT’s Integrated Image Teller to Support Green Initiatives PDF Print E-mail

Imaging application reduces bank’s processing, courier costs

CHICAGO, Jan. 12, 2009 – Integrated Bank Technology (IBT), a company that specializes in engineering software applications for in-house and ASP environments and provides 24/7 support services to community financial institutions across the country, announced that Devon Bank has selected to use its Integrated Image Teller to enhance its green banking efforts.  The bank, which serves customers residing in Chicago and its suburbs, is moving from an electronic branch item capture process to Integrated Image Teller in order to provide the best technology to its customers.

“Our newest facility is a green branch and Integrated Image Teller fits directly in line with the purpose of that location because it will help eliminate unnecessary paper,” Dan Loundy, vice president at Devon Bank, explained.  “For the past 20 years we have been a customer of MICR Resource Management (MRM), which was acquired by IBT earlier this year, and now we look forward to expanding our partnership by deploying this innovative technology.”

Integrated Image Teller eliminates paper by producing “virtual tickets” replacing all internal documents and the cumbersome management of this inventory.  Furthermore, item processing personnel needs are reduced due to the virtual elimination of encoding read failures thereby significantly reducing day 2 processing.  The solution allows for the elimination of courier costs while reducing data processing fees.

Devon Bank looks forward to the convenience that its employees will experience with Integrated Image Teller.  A separate proofing department will not be required because proofing will take place at the teller line and the images are immediately available to everyone at the bank.  The new technology also can help customers detect fraud earlier because the images from their transactions can be made available to them sooner.

“We recognize that banks are becoming increasingly aware of the impact of their processes on the environment and as they expand, Integrated Image Teller is a solution that is directly in line with green banking initiatives,” Mike Golebiowski, president of IBT, added.  “Devon Bank is a perfect example of how the planning for an environmentally-friendly branch should include the elimination of paper.”
