Ozona National Bank to Operate Image Teller in Thin Client Environment PDF Print E-mail

Remote deposit application to significantly streamline business customer processing

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 18, 2008 – Integrated Bank Technology (IBT), a company that specializes in engineering software applications for in-house and ASP environments and provides 24/7 support services to community financial institutions across the country, announced at the BAI Retail Delivery Conference and Expo that Texas-based Ozona National Bank has installed its Integrated Image Teller.  The bank is operating the product in a thin client environment, which allows it to save thousands of dollars in reduced courier costs and data processing fees while substantially reducing new hardware investment.

“We have been moving toward fully operating in a thin client environment for two years and when we selected a new core processor, the company suggested IBT’s product,” Chris Smith, vice president at Ozona National Bank, said.  “We ultimately purchased Integrated Image Teller because of the immediate cost and time advantages, in addition to the BSA software that is included in the product.”

Integrated Image Teller eliminates paper by producing “virtual tickets” replacing all internal documents and the cumbersome management of this inventory.  Furthermore, back office personnel needs are reduced due to the virtual elimination of encoding read failures.  One of the key fraud features is that every item that is scanned goes through 15 different algorithms and sent to a review process based on confidence levels defined by the bank. This review is divided among several employees at the bank, providing rapid and thorough electronic analysis, thus significantly reducing the risk of every transaction.

Ozona’s executive team looks forward to the cost savings that the bank will experience with the replacement of paper teller tickets by virtual tickets.  Security, software and virus updates will also be completed efficiently because of the ability that the thin client environment gives the bank to perform everything from the main terminal.

“The biggest impact of Integrated Image Teller is the fact that we can now complete transactions in real time,” Smith added.  “Before, our cutoff time was 3:30 p.m. and information wasn’t updated until the end of the day.  Now we are considering moving our cutoff time back to the end of the day at 6 p.m.  This advancement is exactly what we need to compete with the big banks.”

“When operating in a thin client environment, banks experience additional benefits such as lower information technology administrative costs, enhanced data security, lower hardware costs, less energy consumption and the more efficient use of computing resources,” Mike Golebiowski, president at IBT, said.  “Ozona National Bank is our first customer to operate Integrated Image Teller in the thin client environment and we look forward to more financial institutions investing in this innovative technology.”
