Custom interface increases efficiency, fraud detection

CEDAR PARK, Texas, Feb. 9, 2009 – Integrated Bank Technology (IBT), a company that specializes in engineering software applications for in-house and ASP environments and provides 24/7 support services to community financial institutions across the country, announced that it has completed an interface design project for Pennsylvania-based First National Bank and Trust Co. of Newtown.  The bank selected IBT to create a customized interface between its core system and its teller software.

“We were referred to IBT by another partner and I was immediately impressed by the level of experience of the employees,” Brian Hughes, vice president of information technology at First National Bank and Trust, explained.  “They were able to quickly understand all of our objectives for the project, so I was very confident that we would be successful.”

The bank worked closely with IBT to create an interface that not only enabled it to continue using the same core system and teller software, but also addressed other goals.  The new technology gives tellers the ability to verify account information at the teller window so that problems can be detected and resolved at the time of the transaction.  This will help First National Bank and Trust improve its efficiency, customer service and fraud detection efforts.

“We had a strict timeframe and in addition to completing the project, we were able to perform testing while still comfortably meeting our deadline,” Hughes added.  “In the end, not only did we save the time and expense of purchasing a new teller solution, but we now have an interface that has made all of the integrated technology more stable.”
