Farmer’s National Bank rolls out IBT’s teller item capture
CEDAR PARK, Texas, February 26, 2008 – Integrated Bank Technology, a company that provides software applications and support services to community financial institutions across the country, announced that Farmers National bank has completed installation of its teller item capture solution. Serving farm communities in Northwest Illinois, the bank searched for three years before finding that IBT and its product were the best fit for its needs.
“Since most technology vendors offer branch item capture, my search for the right system for our bank lasted for some time,” Gary Cangelosi, Cashier at Farmers National Bank, Explained. “Then I was referred to IBT, and after the first demonstration, I invited them back to present to several of the bank’s key executives. At the end of the presentation, everyone agreed that it was a top notch solution that would work for our bank and help us be more productive in our daily operations”
Farmers National Bank has found that IBT is extremely responsive to its needs and the software takes advantage of the newest technology The software also operates on a Microsoft platform, making the initial investment and maintenance costs affordable for the bank.
“The implementation process was very smooth,” Cangelosi continued. “IBT installed the software and monitored the transactions for three weeks, allowing us time to identify and address any problems. During that period we also made sure that our key tellers were involved in the training process and this gave them the ability to train the rest of the staff. In the end, we were able to fully launch teller item capture on our target date.”
Since installation, Farmers National Bank has been able to eliminate its bookkeeping department and all of the associated costly equipment. Instead, the three employees from the department have been moved to the teller window and daily operations are more streamlined.
“I am convinced that we have a better system in place for no additional cost,” Cangelosi said. “We have a much more efficient operation and increased funds availability, while also reducing the number of departments.”
“As the number of check processing centers decrease, it is becoming more and more important for banks to install solutions that reduce cost while increasing service quality to remain competitive,” Mike Golebiowski, President of IBT, added. “IBT has a solution that is both cost effective and scalable, and we look forward to seeing the efficiencies that Farmers National Bank and its customers will realize with this new technology.”
